        METHODS FOR MAGNETIZING A MAGNET

1)RUBBING:

                 The most common method of magnetizing a magnet is rubbing.Rub the iron rod with a magnet in the direction from North to South.Repeat this process several times,the magnet will be magnetized.

2)ELECTRIC CURRENT:

                The most efficient method of magnetizing is to pass an alternating current from the U-shaped bar wounded with an insulating copper wire.

           METHODS OF DEMAGNETIZING A MAGNET

1)HEATING:

              The magnet should be placed in an east west direction and should be heated gently for demagnetizing.

2)HAMMERING:

              The magnet should be hammered in order to be demagnetized.

Making a shutter for a pinhole camera

MAKING A SHUTTER:
          Making a shutter for your pinhole camera is not a difficult thing.
PROCESS:
1)Cut a small piece of card sheet.
2)Wrap it with black tape.
3)Using the tape stick it infront of the hole in such a way that it can be opened or closed easily.

A pinhole camera is an important optical instrument.It was first invented by a Muslim scientist      Ibn-ul-Haitham in sixteenth century to obtain the image of sun eclipse without damaging the eyesight.It is also known as "Camera Obscure"(dark room).

CONSTRUCTION OF A PINHOLE CAMERA

MATERIAL:
Pinhole camera consist of a:
rectangular light proof box
a needle for making small hole in the  box
brass shim or can
photographic paper

PROCESS:

1)Take a rectangular box and cover it with a dark paper or cloth so that light cannot enter the box.
2)With the help of a needle, make a small hole on one side of the box.
3)On the inner side of the box stick a small piece of can or brass shim having a tiny hole.
4)Cover the pinhole with a shutter.

TESTING:
For testing your camera,inset a photographic plate on the opposite side of the hole.For better results try to capture the image in sunlight.
For capturing the image,open the shutter for 25-30 seconds and then close it.Go to a dark room and develop your photograph.
